Want To Double Your Traffic In 24 Hours?

It’s no secret that as bloggers or even webmasters that what we covet most is traffic. What you want to do with that traffic is your own perogative but we all know that traffic means money and success if you do things correctly. A lot of people wonder how they can get traffic to their blog or website and they wonder how they can do it for free. Unless of course you can pay for traffic and make enough off of it to make a profit but you still would want free traffic right?

Well, there is one simple thing that I did over the past 24 hours that doubled the traffic to my blog. It is something that you can do too, very easily I might add, but you may have some excuse for it when I tell you what it is. Frankly, that is your problem and not mine because if you are not willing to work for something that you want then you surely don’t deserve the rewards or satisfaction. Yes, success takes work believe it or not. Getting what you want just doesn’t happen out of nowhere. You have to dedicate yourself to achieving your goal and do whatever you can to complete that goal. Getting off track a little bit here but I wanted to reinforce the fact that nothing in this world is truly free.

So you are probably wondering what I did that doubled my traffic right? Sure you are! You have obviously gotten this far into my post so it is safe to say that you will continue reading on to find out. The one thing that I did to double my traffic…….COMMENT!

Yes, commenting. Something so simple and easy to do and takes so very little time to do it. Lately SuiteJ wrote a post, Where Do You Find The Time To Comment So Much?, about how me along with Ryan over at SmarterWealth.net have been seen commenting all over the place. You may have seen both of us around many blogs leaving our little crumb trail for the birds to follow. Jay even went so far as to call us aliens!! Now, not to shock you but I am not an alien……I’m sorry if you were wanting me to be but I am not. As far as Ryan is concerned I am not too sure, the fact that we have both been seen around the blogosphere has nothing to do with us knowing each other. I have only made one comment on Ryan’s blog and that has been the extent of communication between us. Not because I don’t like him, I just recently found his blog.

I wanted to give you all some stats just to show you that I am not lying and trying to trick you. At the beginning of this week I had gotten into working more on my sites and doing less commenting. Slowly my visitors from referring sites was dropping. By the end of the day on the 15th I had only received 7 visits from referring sites. Yeah so that isn’t a whole lot of people but my blog hovers at around 35 visitors a day. So somewhat disappointed in my drop in visitors I spent some time yesterday commenting on other blogs. I would say in total that I made somewhere around 10 comments. I never count how many I make because I just comment if I feel that I can add something of value to a post.

So a whole 7 visitors from referring sites on the 15th which is sad really. So after spending some time commenting I log in this morning and check the stats because I always check my stats. So how many visitors do you think I had from referring sites yesterday? 15! Yep, twice as many people visited my blog from other sites compared to the 15th. Now you make be thinking this is all a coincidence but it isn’t. I have other days that have seen the same kind of traffic patterns so I know for sure that commenting is what brought the traffic.

There it is, an extremely simple way to bring traffic to your blog in 24 hours. The best part about it? It’s FREE other than having to spend a few minutes to read a blog post and comment. I am not sure what’s Ryan stats look like. I know that he has been commenting a whole lot more then I have so I’m sure that he is receiving a lot more traffic then I am. Maybe he will give us a small insight into his stats in the comments if he sees this post.

So if you want to get more traffic to your blog for free, start commenting! People are inquisitive and will click your name. Write a compelling comment or disagree with the post (in a proper manner) and you will receive even more traffic.

Commenting will bring in some traffic that is for sure! Any time I visit a blog that has a topic I am interested in, I always leave feedback.

When I first started blogging all of my traffic came from comments for the first few months before any SERPS got ahold of the feed. So, you are 100% correct that commenting can deliver traffic!

Dude, why are you giving away your alien secrets? Won’t they beam you back for that?

I’m not sure if your title is accurate. If I had 300 visitors today, commenting on blogs won’t bring me 600 tomorrow. lol. just buggin’. ;)

    Cheers!

Oh, gonna get all technical on me now huh? Haha it’s cool.

Well I’m sure if you commented on enough blogs you would get enough visitors ;) But in all reality I am not sure if that does actually scale, but it has worked out for me in the past.

Commenting is where the party is at - we all know in the bloggerhood that commenting is the bread and butter of uber-networking and building a core foundation towards internet stardom…

Jarret… You’re the man. Whether you know it yet, I’m telling you how it is. You have so much potential.. all I need to see is a video with you talking shit to one of us in good fun… that would make my day for real!

Without a doubt commenting is the best strategy of referral traffic and new subscribers. Ask Ryan “the kid” McLean. I’m looking forward the partnership of both of you in the upcoming ebook if that’s in the plan or is it not? ;-)

    @Yan

No partnership with Ryan. I know that he is doing an ebook but I have not come in contact with him other than a comment on a post of his and his comments here. Which is ok I am not really interested in doing an ebook about commenting. I just wanted to get it out there that while there are various ways to gain traffic, commenting is one of the easiest and you can see results pretty much immediately.

Jarret, that is crap! I totally disagree with you….just messing with you Hood Family. It’s all good.

Yeah, I was noticing Ryan all around the Blogosphere and made it a goal of mine to comment like crazy. I figure there must be so good to it.

The wild thing is that it started as a mission to build more backlinks and traffic, but the more and more I read, the more and more I learned. Go figure, there is a direct correlation to reading and learning in the world of Internet Marketing. Who would have know?

Thanks for the re-enforcement of this lesson.

Actually what is weird is that I have never even heard of your blog until a few days ago when Freddie linked to me from his comment. Which I am not sure why I hadn’t already found you but about a week after this post I really stopped commenting and started focusing more on my other sites so that I could make some actual money ;)

As long as you can write a good comment that makes people want to know more about you or you can write great post titles that attract clicks for use with CommentLuv you will see an increase in traffic.

I get fairly good traffic from commenting, but over 50% of my traffic comes from StumbleUpon. I gather friends and we all stumble each others new posts, a recripricol thing and it works very well.
