Squidoo Update
3 days ago I made a post about how I created a lens on Squidoo to try to make some extra money. I just now today remembered that I had even created the lens, lol.
So I headed over to Squidoo and logged in. To my surprise I found that I have 8 visits so far. Now 8 visits may not seem like a whole lot and it really isn’t. But out of the 8 visits, 6 of them are from Google! Only 2 of the visits are direct so as you can guess I was quite surprised.
I had created the lens on the 7th but didn’t get around to publishing until the next day. So overall the lens has been live for 3 days. 2 of the keyword phrases for which my lens showed up for in Google was the keyword phrase that I was targeting as well. And though I have not made any money from my lens so far and have only made one post about it with one link to it, I think that the 8 visits so far in 3 days isn’t too bad at all.
Considering if I would have created a domain name myself and a site, there is no way I would have already been getting traffic from Google.
So as you can see, if you want to have a chance at earning some money but you don’t know how to make a website or install a blog, use Squidoo. Squidoo provides you a page to write about whatever you want and best of all it’s free! All you have to do is sign up (which is very easy to do and quick), create a lens, publish it and leave it such as computer desktop themes.
Now, of course you don’t have to leave it just sitting there, there are groups on Squidoo that you can join to let them know about your lens and you can also post on their forums and ask for criticism about your lens. Just be sure that you can handle negative comments as well as positive ones. Who knows, maybe a negative comment will make you realize something that you can change to make your lens even better.
So I just wanted to give you all a quick update about my test with Squidoo. I will definitely be keeping a closer eye on my lens now and will post updates as things progress.
