An Old Site Revisited
July 6th, 2008 - No CommentsCategories: Affiliate Marketing Make Money
When I first started this blog, I have written a few posts about a web hosting site that I had been working on. It had turned into something that was just too much for me to deal with at the time, so I had to put it on the back burner. Plus, I wanted to try out a few other things like PPC instead of going for just organic traffic. I’ve gotten up a few campaigns and such and have come up with a few sites in the past month or so. Only 1 sale so far, but I am still sticking with it.
I’ve decided to revisit my web hosting site and actually complete it and get it up and running. I had registered the domain in early November of 2007, so by now it should be out of the supposed Google Sandbox. I figure now was a good as time as any to get some content up on the site and to get it ranking in Google. I have no plans to advertise this site through PPC or to spend any money on it whatsoever. I am going to test out my SEO skills and see just how far I can go with it and how well I can do.
I am relatively confident that I could get onto the first 3 pages at least. I am not sure what terms I am going to go for right now, but I am going to fire up Micro Niche Finder after this post and do some keyword research. The site currently has 10 web hosts on it right now, which I plan to slowly build up and add more over the next few weeks. Visitors can leave reviews as well if their current host is listed.
People can also contact me if their host isn’t listed to get them added. Since I am looking to make money with this site, I am only going to be accepting hosts with affiliate programs, but there are a lot of hosts out there with those. I might come up with a way for those who submit a host, to have their banners placed on the hosts page so that they have a chance to earn some money. I am not sure if I will be going with this idea though, it would be a good way to get some traffic onto the site and to have others find content for me, but I could end up flooded with a huge list of hosts.
That could turn out to be a good thing as well as it will keep me busy and build up the site. Unfortunately with the way that I have it setup, the host’s page detailing their plans and such doesn’t give me much room to add keywords. So I have a place for some guides and a frequently asked questions section. The guides section will give me a great chance to get keywords in, plus a good way to help visitors if they are wanting to know anything and everything about web hosting.
You may end up reading a lot more about this site over the next few weeks while I am busy creating content for it and getting it up and running finally.
