A Fork in the Road

So it has been 8 days since my last post! What have I been up to?
Not a whole lot actually. Just haven’t been all that interested with my current site that I am trying to be successful with. I am just not sure what is wrong and why I am not getting sales. Maybe it’s the keywords that I am targeting? My ads don’t have that great of CTR as well and since I am not getting sales, obviously my landing page isn’t working too great. Which kind of sucks, because I had redesigned the landing page so that the visitor would get a better overall view of the products when the page loaded up.
Maybe I am doing it all wrong? There are just so many factors that could change something that it is hard to know where to start with something and then hope that it works out. All of the different combinations of things that you could try and do and the fact that you don’t know whether or not it will work out until you actually try. That is the hard part, not knowing what will happen especially when your PPC campaign is as weak as mine is right now. I really want to change things up and surely want to bring in more traffic, but at the same time, I don’t want to change something and have it work even worse then it already is!
But when it all comes down to it, it is always about testing. Trying out new things, coming up with new ideas, changing out colors and layout, changing ad text and ad headlines along with display urls. And once all that comes together and you find something that works, you need to have tracking up and running to see which keywords are converting, which ones aren’t while at the same time trying to find more keywords that may bring in additional converting traffic.
LIke I said, there is just so much to do. It is really overwhelming and I am just at a lost as where to start with the changes. My current site, reviews 3 products in a niche, but there are also sub-niches within this niche. So there is the main niche and then I am promoting 5 of the smaller sub-niches within that one. Maybe that is too much? I am thinking about just sticking with one of the sub-niches since my domain explains it exactly and really working on that sub-niche.
I think I may give that a try because at this point, I am really not sure on what to do. Having a site with only 3 products on it instead of 15 would be a lot easier to manage and would allow me to focus a lot more on the one sub-niche. As I stated before, I had tried out a landing page when I first made the site, that didn’t work out too well, so I changed it up completely and came up with a new design. That still hasn’t worked for me yet. Although I haven’t had a whole lot of traffic either which sucks because I don’t have a whole lot of data to go with.
Hmmm, decisions decisions.
