A FaceBook Adventure - Week 1
As you may know, I finally decided to try out my luck with FaceBook advertising. I have been reading around quite a few blogs and came to the conclusion that it should be something in my arsenal. There are quite a few people out there making some nice profit off of FaceBook and considering the amount of people that are on it, you can really get your ad out in front of a lot of people in a very short amount of time.
In my Day 2 post I gave you a quick overview on how I was doing and whether or not I was making money or losing money. I had 2 campaigns running at the time and around 4 ads. I was lucky enough to actually grab 2 conversions within a day from one of my campaigns, but due to the other campaign running and not converting I was behind about $6. I know that $6 isn’t a whole lot of money but I am still just testing things out to see whether I can get some traffic with the ads and whether the landing page actually converts.
So what has happened with my first week? Have I made money yet or have I continued to lose money? As much as I hate to say it, I am still behind in profits. Here is a quick breakdown of the stats as they stand right now:
Campaign 1
Spent: $7.74
Revenue: $5.00
Profit: -$2.74
Not too bad, this is the second campaign that I had tried running on FaceBook. I chose it because it isn’t something that you would normally think of so I liked it because I thought it was unique. I had found the offer on MarketLeverage and checked out the landing page. I really enjoyed the landing page and if I was actually interested in the offer, I would have signed up. It is a free offer anyways for a social network so there is no cost.
I have gotten a few more clicks with the offer but no conversions just yet. I whipped up another ad for the same campaign about 30 mins ago and while writing this post it was approved so we will see what happens.
Campaign 2
Spent: $6.55
Revenue: $0
Profit: -$6.55
I ended up with 37 clicks to this offer but I am guessing that the landing page is just not made to convert. Or maybe it was just my ad text not preparing the visitor enough to sign up and spend a little bit of money for shipping and handling. I was going to let this offer keep on running, but due to it performing poorly and a new campaign that I have launched that shows a lot of promise I had to let this one go.
For those of you wondering, I was running the UMAC-CORE found on MarketLeverage. I just checked out the offer again right now while writing this and they have a new landing page, go figure. So if you are interested you could try that out. If you do and you make some money from it, let me know!
Campaign 3
Spent: $6.13
Revenue: $3.12
Profit: -$3.01
This is an offer that I am really excited about actually. I started it on the 14th and only ended up getting 5 clicks off of the first ad as of right now but no sales. I think the offer has some great potential on FaceBook so I am determined to get it working. I whipped up another ad for it last night and within 30 minutes of the ad being approved I maxed out my $5 daily budget!! I was both really excited and pissed off. Excited because I may have found an ad that converts well and pissed off because I lost out on a lot of impressions over the night. From what I have read, you tend to receive more impressions in the later hours of the night due to all the college people on there signing on.
I ended up with 17 clicks and had made the $3.12 from those. The offer is a revenue share where I make 5% commission on products. 5% is pretty low but if I can get it to make a profit with even a few dollars I will complete my goal of making even a little bit of money online. I changed my daily budget over to $15 last night before I went to bed to allow for a lot more clicks. As is stands right now I have gotten 11 more clicks but no revenue just yet. I am running this offer on CJ.com and will check that before bed and again tomorrow when I get home.
So all in total….
Spent: $20.42
Revenue: $8.12
Profit: -$12.30
Still down in the hole but like I said, my last campaign looks promising as it targets something that is highly relevant to a large group of users on FaceBook. Yeah I’ve lost money so far but I am still going to stick with it and keep trying out new offers. I know that eventually I will find something that works and once I do, I will be sure to let you all know.
